Roberta Carol “Bobby” Breyfogle, 97, of Valparaiso, IN formerly of Lansing, IL passed away Thursday, January 1, 2026. She was born May 18, 1928, in Chicago, IL to Robert C. & Eva (Gokee) Goodwin. Bobby made her career as a mathematics teacher at Thornton Fractional South High School in Lansing for 22 years. Her extensive domestic travels with Richard were documented meticulously in her logbook. On those same trips she perfected her knitting skills which led to the production of dozens of afghans and Christmas stockings for family & friends. She was an active member of the Presbyterian churches in Lansing, IL and Cave Creek, AZ serving as an Elder, singing in the choir and playing in the bell choir. Music was a constant in her life, as she was able to enjoy a wide spectrum of genres to fill her days.

In 1947 she married Richard D. Breyfogle who preceded her in death in 2010. Survivors include their children: Hope McGinty of Valparaiso, Donald (Linda) Breyfogle of Kentucky & Love (Dave) Burland of South Dakota, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law: Ann & Mary Goodwin. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Peggy Ettema, Fern (infant), James & Wendell Goodwin, and one son-in-law, Donald McGinty.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 6th from 3 – 5 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with a time of sharing beginning at 5:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to French Camp Academy or a charity of the donor’s choice.
