Sharon Sue Weaver, 79, of Union Mills, Indiana passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Gibson Family Center for Hospice in Terre Haute. She was born on January 5, 1947, in South Bend, Indiana to Stephen & Mabel (Bowers) Pozil and graduated from South Bend Riley High School. Sharon spent 17 years as a head cashier with Kroger in LaPorte and later concluded her career with nearly 15 years as a supervisor at Wells Fargo Bank in Union Mills. She was a longtime member of Union Mills Baptist Church and is currently a member of Crossroads Baptist Church, Wanatah.
Sharon’s family-focused, supportive, and genuine nature made her the “rock” of her family. She loved nothing more than being with the people she cherished, especially cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. She enjoyed traveling across the United States with her sisters, creating memories full of laughter, adventure, and a little mischief. She was strong and selfless, offering unwavering love and support without hesitation. Her patience was unmatched, and she embraced every moment with grace. Her faith guided her, grounded her, and helped shape the legacy she leaves behind.
On January 29, 1966, she married Ronald Weaver who preceded her in death on May 13, 2022. Survivors include their children: Daniel (Cindy) Weaver of Lebanon, BethAnn (Kevin) Padget of Terre Haute, Jason (Emily) Weaver of LaPorte, grandchildren: Jessica (Justin) Spencer, Jenna Weaver, Jaycee Weaver, Gabrielle Weaver (HeeGeon Pyo), Gregory Long, Shane Weaver, Brody Weaver, Damon Weaver, step-grandson, Ben Wakeman, step-great granddaughter, Emmalyn, sisters: Pamela (Bill) Spainhower & Marti Pozil and sister-in-law Sara Pozil. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Paul Pozil and fiancé Bob Meyers.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 23rd from 3 – 5 pm CST at Crossroads Baptist Church, 10027 W. 1000 S., Wanatah, Indiana 46390, with funeral service beginning at 5:00 pm CST, Pastor John Stalions officiating. Cremation will follow at Angelcrest Crematory. Memorial donations may be made to Crossroads Baptist Church.
