David P. Jones, Sr., 66, of Hanna passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 15, 2026 after a courageous four year battle with cancer. He was born May 27, 1959, to Wayne A. Jones, Sr. & Irene B. (Koch) Good and graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1977. David had owned and operated Jones Telecom. He was a copper wire phone cable splicer and worked in the telecommunications field for 42 years. David’s passion was drumming, having played drums with multiple local bands over the years. Even without his instruments at hand, he was always strumming cadence on any available surface.  The rock & roll genre ran through his veins with a special shout out to “KISS’’ and “Rush” Karaoke was his jam; David proved he was a great vocalist and would always try to be at local karaoke events. He could usually be found playing pool with many friends.

Survivors include his son, David P. Jones, Jr. of Colorado, his partner and caretaker, Tina Stultz, his son’s mother, Vicki Ewart, Darla Simpson Jones, siblings: Wayne (Helen) Jones, Jr. of Hanna, Susan (Good) Hale of Union Mills, Paul Good of Hanna, sister in law, Kathy Good of Ohio, grandchildren: Aspen Jones (Nathan Loos), Willow Jones, and great-grandchildren: Legacy & Lazarus Loos, and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne & Darlene Jones and Irene & Paul Good, Sr., grandparents, Frank & Letitia Koch, Elbert Norman & Rachel Jones, Freeman & Minnie Good and siblings: James Jones, Mary Fields, Mike Good & brother-in-law Pat Hale.

Following cremation, a celebration of David’s life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contribution may be made in the form of The American Cancer Society. The family would like to sincerely thank the Dunes Hospice for the special care and compassion that they provided.
