Glenna June Kirk, 80 of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She was born June 27, 1945, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to the late Victor and Ruth (Hensrude) Hartford. Glenna attended Millwood School in Spokane, Washington, and in her youth, she loved to go swimming. Glenna also enjoyed taking photographs, writing letters, cooking and experimenting with recipes. You could often find her exploring the city of Chicago, spending time with her beloved grandchildren, and adoring dogs. Glenna was a glamorous lady who never left the house without fixing herself up. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Glenna is survived by her daughter, Susan (Pete) Dres of Valparaiso, IN; son, Darrell (Beth Devereaux) Kirk, Jr. of Seattle, WA; grandchildren: Pete (Rylee) Dres II, Alexis (Martin Ortiz) Dres, and Hugh Kirk; siblings: Caroline (Roger Ferguson) Belisle, Elizabeth (Robert) Gayle, Bonnie (Bill) Gaumer, and Virginia (Mario) Fucinari; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Kirk; brother, Richard Hartford; and sisters: Dorothy Bonfiglio, Joanne Hartford, and Barbara Redwine.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Glenna’s name to the Alzheimer's Association.
