Mark A. Grant, 89 of Chesterton, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He was born on January 18, 1937 in Johnson City, Illinois, the son of Mark and Zoni Grant. A 1955 graduate if Edison High School in Gary, Mark served in the Army from 1960-1962. He retired as an operating engineer, working through Midwest Operating Engineers Local 150. Mark was a member of the Gary Masonic Lodge 677 and Scottish Rite, 32nd degree, of South Bend.
On September 10, 1960, Mark married Elizabeth D. Woods who survives along with their children, Kelly Grant-Bannister and Mark S. Grant; grandchildren, Stepheny (Ben) Mallon, Racheal Jablonski, and Jessica (Jared) Grabil; and great grandchildren, Myles, Spencer, and Joey Mallon, Chase, Camdon, and Carter Grabil, and Abbi and Drew Jablonski. He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 PM and interment of ashes to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
