MaryAnn Wheeler, 81 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, April 2, 2026.  She was born on September 25, 1944 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Joseph and Sylvia (Gregory) Cordaro.  MaryAnn was a people person which was fitting for her career working at Schoops in Valparaiso for 30 years.  She loved the Lord and more recently attended Valley Baptist Church and always enjoyed Bible Studies.  Her passion in life was her family, whether it was dinner, game night, or just spending time with one another, she always made it special.

On August 10, 1963 in Chesterton, MaryAnn married Earl James “Jim” Wheeler who preceded her in death on January 4, 2014.  She is survived by her children, Richard (Betty) Wheeler and Barbara (Bob) Diller; grandchildren, Chesarae (Elsie), Shawda (Trevor), Brittney (Joaquin), Tony (Amy), Juanita (Steve), Nate (Lauren), Robbie (Jacquelyn), and Seth (Sophia); numerous great grandchildren; sister, Cheryl (Allen) Hankosky; and best friend and soul sister, Diane Shearhod.

In accordance with MaryAnn’s wishes no services will be held with cremation at Angelcrest Crematory.
