Warner P. Buchelt, 91 of Crown Point, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2026. He was born on January 24, 1935 in St. Paul, Minnesota to the late, Eward J. and Martha (Edin) Buchelt. Warner worked for many years as a field service manager for Remmington Chainsaws and retired from Innovated Energy, where he worked in sales. In retirement, Warner enjoyed working as a guide at Deep River Park. His passion in life was his love of the Lord; Warner studied the Bible and loved to teach the Word. The love of music, especially hymns and classical, went along well with his love of Christ. Warner was a member at Christ Community/Cornerstone Community. Throughout his life, he directed youth and adult choirs, as well as singing in many quartets. Warner also had a love of aviation; he held a private and commercial license. When he wasn’t in the air, you could find Warner in his happy place, his wood/metal shop. He was a very talented wood and metal worker and could fix or create almost anything. Most will remember Warner for his kind, caring, and gracious personality, and don’t forget his great sense of humor.
On September 15, 1990, Warner married Vivian (Schmidt) Klyczek who preceded him in death on February 22, 2026. He is survived by three sons, Scot R. (Shelly) Buchelt, Stephen Paul (Diane) Buchelt, and Robin Buchelt; daughter, Linda Spaulding; grandchildren, Valerie Lawson, Stephen Buchelt, Sara Buchelt, Bryan Paul (Amy) Buchelt, Laura Buchelt, Erin (Jeff) Staum, Robynn Buchelt, Allyson (Joe) Ellegood, Jayme Buchelt, Whitney (Zander) Herold, Benjamin Paul (Molly) Buchelt, and Viktor Buchelt; and many great grandchildren. Warner was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law, Diane Dale, and sister, Jerri.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 4:00 PM. Private burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Church (Calvary 30).
