Michael Anthony Dybel, 50 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 13, 2026. He was born on May 29, 1975, in East Chicago, IN. Michael graduated from George Rogers Clark High School in Hammond in 1994. He was well known for putting a smile on everyone’s face throughout his lengthy tenure in customer service at both White Castle and Strack & Van Til.
Throughout his life, Michael enjoyed everything with God’s creation. He enjoyed long walks, camping and sitting around the campfire, fishing, and being in nature. Michael was also an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables and found great peace tending to his cacti collection. He never met a stranger in his life. Michael loved peaceful moments and celebrating holidays with his family. Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and his family takes comfort in knowing that he is in Heaven today. He was also proud of his time spent with Celebrate Recovery in Valparaiso. Micheal will be dearly missed by all that knew his tender soulful eyes and loving smile.
Michael is survived by his loving companion, Nancy Andretta Hebda; and their daughter, Luisa Jeanette Hebda.
