Karen Gazdich, 80, of Valparaiso passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was born April 1, 1943 to Talmage & June (Rank) Eisenmenger and graduated from Lew Wallace High School in 1962. Karen made her career with Valparaiso Community Schools Food Service for 28 years. She was a member of First Christian Church DOC where she worshipped with her friends in the Mary Circle. Swimming at the YMCA, galivanting with the Red Hat Society, membership in Saxon Lodge branch 26, bowling at Inman’s, and sharing her love through cooking and entertaining gave her the abundant life that Jesus encouraged.
On January 4, 1964 she married Andrew Gazdich who survives along with their children; Cheryl Gazdich & Todd (Jolene) Gazdich, brother, Al (Cheryl) Eisenmenger, all of Valparaiso, granddaughter, Michaela (Camaron) Warren, and great-grandson, Bentley Andrew Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Cheryl Ann Eisenmenger.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 9 – 11 am at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 11:00 am and burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Dunes Hospice.

I am so grateful for the many memories that I have of Karen. She was a member of First Christian Church DOC where she worshipped with her friends in the Mary Circle; she always supported my ministry at FCC for the years I served as Co-Pastor there (2005-2013). I remember Karen swimming the YMCA and participating in all of our spiritual growth opportunities offered when I was the YMCA chaplain (2017-2018). I remember the friendship that she had with my late mother and all the fun times that they shared together in the Red Hat Society. Deepest sympathy to all of you. -Victoria Ubben
