Lester W. Pullins, 75, of Kouts passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was born September 1, 1947 in Boone Grove, Indiana to Edward & Bessie (Sherrick) Pullins, graduated from Kouts High School in 1965, and served proudly with the U.S. Army in Germany during the 1960’s. Lester made his career with the Owens-Corning plant in Valparaiso for 25 years retiring as their Warehouse Manager. If you grew up in Kouts in the 1980’s you very likely had Lester as a coach of one of your youth sports, from baseball to softball.  He also enjoyed bowling, serving as a Commander of Kouts American Legion Post #301, and especially playing guitar (by ear) in the “Sum-Tymes Band”.
On July 6, 1974 he married Sandi Leuthold who survives along with their children; Donald Hall of Kouts, Amy (Greg) Satoski of Kouts, Lester “Bub” (Amber) Pullins of Valparaiso, sister, Dottie Tangeman, grandchildren: Kaylin, Veronica, Douglas, Harlee, Taylor, Alexzandria, Gunnar, Alexis & Lyric, and great-granddaughters: Aurora, Kiara, Carmen & Blake. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Edward, Delbert & Edith Pullins.
A visitation will be held Thursday, May 25th from 1 – 5 pm at Kosanke Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Kouts (new location) with funeral service beginning at 5:00 pm, Pastor Shawn Evans officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Lakeshore PAWS or the Kouts American Legion Post #301.

Sandy(and family). So very sorry for your loss. Lester was hilarious each time we saw him. I know down in Wanatah during the family reunion he would get out his guitar and ray.
