Adele Crockett Lutz, 102 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2025.  She was born March 20, 1923 in Rutherford, New Jersey to the late Cyrenius and Adele (Smith) Crockett.  Adele worked as a medical lab technician for Dr. Bennett for about 8 years and worked copy entry at the Vidette Times.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved spending time with family and sharing her strong faith.  Adele was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso, she taught Sunday School, participated in Bible Studies, and was a member of the choir until her retirement at age 100.  Her love for music extended from being a member of the Valparaiso University Community Chorus to attending concerts and musicals and playing piano.  Adele was a dedicated caregiver for her husband, Edward, for 25 years and she also found enjoyment in gardening, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and volunteering.

On November 25, 1948 in Lansdowne, PA, Adele married Edward J. Lutz, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2006.  She is survived by her children, Annette Lutz, Edward (Raquel) Lutz, Jr., and Louise (James) Lee; grandchildren, Jeremy (Karen), Shawn, and Corey (Rianna) Lee; and great grandchildren, Genevieve, Shawn, Jr., Ellis, Elizabeth, and Alaina Lee.  Adele was also preceded in death by her siblings, Walter, Cathryn, Frances, and Edith.

A Visitation will be held Monday, April 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso 103 N. Franklin St., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the First United Methodist Church of Valparaiso or VNA Hospice of NWI.
