Alice Prickett, 81 of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023. She was born December 6, 1941, in Greenhill, IN to Everett and Dorothy (Taylor) Lewis. Alice graduated from Chesterton High School in 1959. She made her career as a customer service representative and bookkeeper with Samuelson Insurance in Portage, where she retired in 2022, and formerly at Trowbridge Insurance in Valparaiso. She enjoyed attending Valparaiso Nazarene Church, selling antiques with her husband, and traveling with family. Alice will be remembered as a strong and hardworking woman, with a giving heart.
On September 15, 1961, Alice married Ralph Prickett, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1998. She is survived by her brother, Kenneth (Linda) Lewis; sister-in-law, Jennie Kraker; brother-in-law, R.C. Prickett; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Della Lewis, and brother, Paul Lewis.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. The funeral service will begin on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, with additional visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery.
