Angela Marie “Sunshine” Cothren, 65 of Chesterton, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024. She was born May 19, 1959 in Gary, Indiana to E.D. and Audrey (Thomas) Cothren. Angela found enjoyment in bird watching, caring for her roses, yard work, relaxing at the beach, sitting on the porch, and food, especially tacos. She was a loving and devoted mother, Memaw to her grandkids, Sunshine to her great grandson, a best friend and Irish twin to her sister, and a caring sister to her brothers. She will be dearly missed by her family.
Angela is survived by her children, Crystal (Edward) Kreiger and Eric Kristelli; grandchildren, Michael (Gabby) Espinoza and Matthew (Nayelli Sanchez) Espinoza; great grandson, Ario Espinoza; siblings, Dobbie (Kathy) Cothren, Ray Cothren, Michael Cothren, and Ruby (Dan) Staszak; nieces and nephews, Keith (Angela) Manning, Jesaka Cole, Cheryl (Cory) Davis, Jamie (Mike) Williams, Devin Manning, Brian Manning, Faith Manning, Donnie Cole, Jaden Cole, Dominick Hardaway, Gracie Williams, Landyn Williams, Gavin Cuezas, Selena Whitcomb, Cory Davis Jr., Aizen Davis, Jade Davis; aunts, Cecila Smith and Maryland (George) Gruver; and uncle, Sammy Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents; fiancée, Ron Elder; and brother-in-law, Flint Cole.
Following cremation, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate Angela’s life.
