Angelin Elnora Miller, age 100, passed away on October 13, 2025.  Angelin was born on July 18, 1925 in Grand Junction, IA, the youngest child of Howard and Elnora Haase Bayston.

She married Alden Miller on November 23, 1968 in Valparaiso, IN.  He preceded her in death on March 08, 2000.  Angelin was also preceded in death by sons Alfred Mattox, Kenneth Mattox, Wayne Mattox, and brothers LaRoy Bayston, Vernon Bayston, Eldon Bayston, Dwayne Bayston, and Marvin Bayston. Angelin is survived by son Steven Mattox, daughters Janet Mattox (Kathy) and Linda Miehle (Peter), grandchildren William Miller and Sarah Miller, and special niece Mary Grohler, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Angelin grew up in the small farm communities of central Illinois and moved to Indiana in 1953 where she raised her family.  She was confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chatsworth, IL.  After moving to Indiana, Trinity Lutheran Church in Valparaiso was her church home where her 6 children were confirmed.  A woman of deep faith, it was important to Angelin that her children be raised in the Lutheran Church, providing a faithful foundation for their lives.

While raising her family, Angelin worked cleaning houses, at Ma Cole’s diner, at Strauss Pie Shop, and in retail.  She worked at McGill Manufacturing for 15 years, retiring in 1984, where she was the first female in the history of the company to hold the position of machine inspector, as well as other positions during her tenure.

She enjoyed gardening and raised a huge vegetable garden for many years, preserving the vegetables for her family.  In later years that love transitioned to flowers and landscape plants.  Angelin loved the outdoors and relaxing on the patio. After retirement, she and Al enjoyed traveling to central Illinois to spend time with their families.

As a Centenarian and a member of what is known as the ‘Greatest Generation”, Angelin was persevering and determined, with a wealth of life experience and wisdom.

A private service was held. ‘Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31
