Annastasia Lynn Mangel Sherer, 40 of Hobart, passed away Monday, July 14, 2025, following a long battle with ulcerative colitis. She was born September 22, 1984, in Valparaiso to Dave Mangel and Tami Wall. Anna graduated from Valparaiso High School in 2003, and proudly served in the Indiana Army National Guard for 7 years. During her time in the service, Anna was called to help when disaster struck in Evansville, IN due to flooding, Coronado, CA while building the wall, and Biloxi, MS for search and rescue following Hurricane Katrina. Anna was currently employed as a chef at Northwest Health Porter. She was a hardworking mother, who loved spending time with her children and friends. Anna was a Halloween enthusiast, enjoyed watching scary movies, cooking, and helping others. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, and caring heart. Anna was a loving and devoted mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, and aunt who will be deeply missed.

Anna is survived by her children: Cade Mangel and Olivia Sherer; mother, Tami Wall; father, Dave (Sandra) Mangel; grandfather, Jerry (Sharon Beach) Mangel; sisters: Jessica (Marty) McRobert, Cassandra Mangel, Victoria Wall; step-sisters: Kasandra (Josiah) Brown, and Katrina Call; nieces and nephews: Jordan, Lillia, Sebasten, Emma, Haadynn, and Lorelei; and many loving extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Teddy and Goldie Wall, and Margaret Ann Mangel.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Olivia Sherer.
