Anne Marie Steinbrecher (Seibert), 63, of Rocky River, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was born November 16, 1960, in Parkersburg, WV to Wendell & Marie (Cole) Seibert, attended Forest Park High School in Beaumont, TX, and received a BSN from Baylor University in 1983. Anne made her career as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, passionately advocating for those in her care.  She was a compassionate caregiver and it showed not only in her nursing but in all facets of her life

Anne brought light and joy everywhere she went. She delighted in sharing the love of Jesus, serving as a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Westlake, Ohio. She actively looked for ways to serve others, always ready with a listening ear. She loved planning celebrations, hosting events, attending bible study (BSF), and spending time with her grandsons. Over a decade ago during College Football hall of fame festivities in December, she initiated an annual service project for the spouses of the commissioners who went and served a meal for the homeless at an area church.

Anne endured a six-plus-month battle with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. Throughout her diagnosis Anne kept her joy and smile.

On August 18, 1984, she married Jon Steinbrecher and served as his partner across his multiple positions in intercollegiate athletics.  She served as the first lady for three Division I conferences and enjoyed supporting the efforts of the memberships.  She was a passionate fan who enjoyed attending college athletic events.  She is survived by her husband, Jon, along with their children:  Grace (Taylor) Rhea, William & Matthew Steinbrecher, siblings, John (Kaye) Seibert, David (Melinda) Seibert & Jimmy (Laura) Seibert, grandchildren, Cole & Leo Rhea, and father-in-law, William Steinbrecher. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Helen Steinbrecher, and sisters-in-law Rin Seibert & Kathy Steinbrecher Clanton.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 26th from 3—7 pm CDT at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso, IN. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 27th at 11:00 am CDT at Valparaiso University’s Chapel of the Resurrection, Rev. GUESTBOOK

Offering prayers of comfort to Jon and the Family and Friends of Anne. A servant of God throughout her life and always seeking to strengthen her Faith. Had been able to connect while meeting at Prince of Peace Church. We will remember her kind demeanor and now know she is with our Lord in His Eternal Kingdom. In Jesus Christ ‘s name we pray, Amen. -Thomas and Lora Robinholt

I was saddened to learn of Anne's passing. I extend my deepest sympathy to members of the Siebert family. I have fond childhood memories of playing with David, John, Jimmy, and their sister, Anne, who lived across the street from me. Anne was always such a sweet girl. It is no surprise to me that she grew to be such a caring, loving, and compassionate lady. Knowing her parents as I did, I know where she developed a foundation to be a wonderful Christian witness. -Michael Truncale

Romans says: For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the whole family. We love you all and will be here for you all. -The Sattesons

Anne was truly a superior human. Her warmth, generosity and kindness radiated to all she met. Anne was not only loving, kind and caring she was inclusive to all. In all the times we were together (as annual best friends) she never uttered an unkind word or shared an unkind thought. Truly an amazing person who I will always look up to with so much love and respect. My heart is broken for Jon and the family. The only solace is that she is now resting with her Heavenly Father. My most sincere condolences, -Cindy Banowsky
