Anthony Raymond Alviani, 80 of Portage, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024.  He was born March 14, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Anthony and Evelyn (Jannotta) Alviani.  Anthony made his career as an officer in the Chicago Police Department.  In retirement, he moved out west to the Las Vegas area and loved the desert climate and landscape.  Anthony found enjoyment in skeet shooting and collecting art, stamps, coins, and rocks.  Recently, he became an avid fan of watching rodeos on the Cowboy Channel and the TV show Pit Bulls and Parolees.
Anthony is survived by his daughters, Donna (Bret Griga) Sullivan, Deborah (David Majda) Alviani, and Denise (Danny) Colantuono; grandchildren, Jacob (Shay), Joshua, Lucas (Shannon), Dominique, Danielle, and Grace; great grandchild, Wren; sister, Diane Rozinsky; and his former wife, Janet Alviani.
A private family gathering will be held following cremation.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a local animal shelter of your choice.
