Beverly Gail Rodeck Swift was born in Forest Park, IL on September 21, 1932. She met Harlan Swift while attending Valparaiso University. They were married December 26, 1954, and celebrated their 70th anniversary last year. Four children were born to Bev: Gayle Renee Dessuit (Frank), Daryl Mark Swift (Julie), Jodi Beth Pynakker (Michael), and Joel Tod Swift (Debbie). She was grandmother to 15 children and great-grandmother to 9 children. Bev had two younger siblings: her sister, Joanne Bublitz (Donald), and her brother, Roger Rodeck (Bev).
Before and after raising her children, Bev taught physical education, home economics, math, and Bible. She played the piano at church, led women’s Bible studies, and with her husband, hosted many homegroups.
She will always be remembered for her intense love for Jesus, the Bible, prayer and worship, her family and friends. She welcomed so many into her heart and home.
