Bridget A. Henderson, 85, of Kouts passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026. She was born January 29, 1941, in Gary, IN to Frank & Mary (Carrico) Schoppa, and graduated from Hobart High School in 1959. She was a longtime secretary with Calumet Securities in Merrillville and concluded her Career with MasterWeld in Hobart. Bridget was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kouts serving on their Eucharistic Ministry team. She had also been a member of the Hobart Jaycees for many years. She enjoyed traveling with Ray throughout the U.S., particularly a trip to the Dakotas, Montana and Yellowstone. But it was their regular fishing outings to the Michigan City pier that were looked forward to with anticipation in recent years.
On October 21, 1983, she married Raymond Henderson who survives along with their daughter, Rita Sarver of Portage and granddaughter, Halee Welp. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Jeanie Hulse.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 12th from 3 – 7 pm at Kosanke Funeral Home 309 S. Main St., Kouts. A funeral mass will be held Friday beginning at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Kouts with burial following at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
