Carlyn Jean Cannon, 80 of Logansport, formerly of Kouts, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023. She was born January 22, 1943, in Valparaiso, IN to Melvin and Laura (Maul) Cannon. Carlyn graduated from Kouts High School. She made her career as a Medical Records Director with Lincolnshire Health Center in Merrillville. Carlyn was talented with crafts and enjoyed showcasing her talents through crocheting and knitting. She had a feisty personality and was strong-willed throughout all the obstacles life threw at her. Carlyn will be remembered as a wonderful mother who loved her family dearly.
Carlyn is survived by her son, Wayne Winkler of Kouts; daughter, Anna Winkler of Logansport; sisters: Kathleen Robertson and Sally (Joe) Spencer; brothers: Casey (Marilyn) Cannon and Harry (Robin) Cannon; 2 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; best friend, Wanda Abbott; and many cousins and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Wanda Winkler Witkowski.
A Celebration of Carlyn and her daughter, Wanda, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at Mulberry Church, 207 S. Main Street, Kouts, IN 46347.
