Carmen A. Rosado, 93 of Valparaiso, Indiana, formerly of East Chicago, Indiana and Bayamon, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 29, 2023. She was born May 26, 1930, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico to the late Dionisio Gandia and Mercedes (Guzman) Frau. Carmen was a former member of Primera Iglesia Christiano in East Chicago. She loved animals, and enjoyed cooking, taking care of her flower garden, and fishing with her husband. Carmen was a ray of light wherever she went. She continuously praised and thanked the Lord for her blessings and reminded everyone around her to find the good in any situation. Carmen will be remembered for her loving and caring nature. She will be dearly missed by her beloved family.
On November 10, 1948, Carmen married the love of her life, Basilio Rosado, who preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by their children: Edwin (Vivian) Rosado of South Bend, Blanca (Jim) Cook of Valparaiso, Sergio (Debbie) Rosado of Hammond; grandchildren: Nicole, Michelle, Jennifer, Jonathan, Julianne, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Sawyer, Logan, Maddux, Hudson, and Dominic; great-great-grandson, Kamden; and siblings: Alcadio, Miguelina, Angel, Isabel, Lydia, and Luis. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bartolito.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN, with a funeral service beginning at 4:00 p.m. Carmen will be laid to rest at Cementerio Los Cipreses in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
