Carol Ann Crawford, 68, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025. She was born August 22, 1957, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Raymond and Theresa (Kessler) Crawford. Carol attended Central Cambria High School in Pennsylvania. She relocated to Indiana and enjoyed these early years primarily as a mother, working in the school system her children attended. As her children grew and life changed, she enjoyed various administrative assistant roles. For her last place of employment, she had the joy of working in this role with her daughter and son-in-law before she retired in 2022. Her health these later years interfered with many things, but she has always found joy in the simple parts of life; snuggles with her dog, hummingbirds in the feeder, sunshine, watering her pansies, a good cup of coffee. But most of all she enjoyed moments spent with her beloved children, grandchildren, and family. They were her pride and joy. Carol will be remembered for her simple way of life, her giving nature, and her loving and strong heart. Though she will be dearly missed every day, her memory will live on in the lives she touched while she was here.
Carol is survived by her children: Ben (Lysa) Lauper, Stacy (Bryce) Pickering, and Matthew Eldridge; her significant other, Melvin Eldridge; grandchildren: Bryce Jr., Ethan (Katelyn), Ayden, Karissa (Dylan), Liberty (Evan), Jacqi (Jordan), Tyler, and Zack; great-grandchildren: Penelope and Percy; and siblings: Theresa (Ken) Kosaber, Raymond (Donna) Crawford, Linda (Brian) Shaw, and Diane Alley.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, no public services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made in Carol’s name to Lakeshore Paws.
