Carol S. Parker, 82, of Valparaiso passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2024. She was born February 1, 1942, in Hammond to William & Eleanor Redar, Sr. and graduated from Hammond High School. Carol made her career as a bookkeeper with various accounting firms in the region. Reading and embroidery were favorite activities in her leisure time, but being able to spend time at her granddaughter’s sporting and concert events was always her choice activity.
On September 4, 1965 she married Gerald Parker who preceded her in death in 2021. Survivors include their daughter, Susan (Kevin) Sadler of Valparaiso, granddaughters, Shelby (Jon) Schneider & Abigail Sadler, great-grandson, Daxton Schneider, siblings; Judy (Peter) Barenie, Janet (Rodney) Vittetoe & Jim Redar, and her cousin Sandy Robertson who was currently her roommate at Avalon Springs. She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael Parker in 1990, and her brother, William Redar, Jr.
A visitation will begin 1:30 pm Monday, April 1st at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm Monday, Father Jerry Schweitzer officiating, with visitation continuing until 5 pm. A private committal will take place Tuesday at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice of NWI.
