Charles W. “Chuck” Linebaugh, 87 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He was born March 28, 1937, in Jefferson City, MO, to the late William and Lillie (Martin) Linebaugh. Chuck proudly served in the Army National Guard for 25 years and acquired the rank of First Sergeant. He made his career as a Steelworker with the steel mills in Gary, IN before serving as a Physical Plant Director for the State of Indiana. In his retirement, Chuck enjoyed gardening and working on the old family farm in Brazil, IN, where he took care of the wildlife preserve, and raised crops and livestock. Lucky friends and family members were the recipients of Chuck’s farm fresh chicken eggs. Chuck will be remembered as “a character” by his loved ones.
On March 3, 1956, in Charleston, MO, Chuck married Glenna Hickey, who preceded him in death in 2014. He is survived by their sons: Charles (Stephanie) Linebaugh II of Chicago, IL, and Brian (Emily) Linebaugh of Portage, MI; grandchildren: Luke, Lake, Leif, August, and Bowie.
A graveside service and military honors will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Charleston, MO. Memorial donations may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation.

In 1973 we became neighbors and then very good unforgettable friends for 51 years. Our families grew up together and have many memories to share. Along with several trips together, evenings playing dominoes, and late in the year spend an evening together talking and cracking open fresh pecans from Missouri. Forever in our hearts.
