Clifford “Cliff” Earl Garner, 61 of Hammond, passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024. He was born on July 29, 1962 in Gary, IN to Clyde Earl and Ruby Jean (Hood) Garner. He made his career as a welder and crane operator for many years, but honestly, what couldn’t Cliff do? As a jack-of-all trades, he was a true creator and Mr. Fix-It. One man’s trash could be turned into another man’s treasure at the skillful hands of Cliff.
In 2014, Cliff reconnected with his childhood sweetheart, Lou Anne, by a chance of fate and an accidental phone call and the rest is history as they say. He enjoyed fishing and motorcycle rides, was a dog whisperer, and had an unmatched sense of humor. Always offering a helping hand and a smile, he never knew a stranger and was a friend to all.
Survivors include his siblings: Kathleen (Joe) Beverly, Joyce Ann Arnes, Barbara Jean Garner, and Edna Earl (Mike) Sullivan; brother-in-law, Bob Hall; his significant other in life, Lou Anne Kessler; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Ruby; sister, Sandra Dean Hall; brother-in-law, Jim Arnes; nephew, Sean Thomas James Horner; and beloved dogs, Dakota and Serena.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 10 – noon at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a service beginning at noon. Interment to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
