Colin Joshua Lee Coots, 20 months of Valparaiso passed away Friday, November 14, 2025, at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.  He was born February 27, 2024, at Northwest Health in Valparaiso arriving early and weighing in at one pound, three ounces. His time in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Northwest Health got him off to a seemingly good start before complications arose requiring his transfer to Oak Lawn. As he grew and progressed, he became “The Boss” of their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Colin’s strong and brave demeanor endeared him to the medical staff. With a sign posted prominently next to him declaring “Look What I Can Do”, he proved every day what a true fighter he was.  He loved music and could always be consoled by his Papa singing or listening to lullabies by the Beatles.

Survivors include his parents, Joshua & D’Anna (Gerard) Coots of Valparaiso, his big sister, Leonora Coots, grandparents: Ron & Doris Gerard of Lafayette, Indiana, Joel & Marjorie Coots of Valparaiso and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, November 25th from 4 - 6 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, Indiana with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 pm, Pastor Mark Russell officiating. In loving memory of Colin, in lieu of flowers donations to help cover funeral expenses can be made at "Click Here". Any funds remaining after these costs will be placed into a support fund for his sister. Your generosity will help ease the burden during this difficult time.
