Colleen M. Stokes, 71 of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born on January 27, 1952 in Spring Valley, IL to Stanley and Doris (Keilty) Schubert. She attended Manteno High School before making her career as a shipping supervisor for Bennett Industries/NAMPAC for 50 years before retiring. Her devotion and generosity to her family was unmatched. Colleen was a strong, determined, and loving woman whose life and memory will live on in those she loved. She will be dearly missed.
Colleen is survived by her son, John J. (Katie) Stokes II; grandchildren: Layla and Sam Stokes; siblings: Larry Schubert, Gary (Anna) Schubert, Gene (Dayna) Schubert, Mark (Geri) Schubert, Debra (James) Artz, Brian Schubert, Donald (Gretchen) Schubert, and Ricky (Mary) Schubert; and 18 nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Doris Schubert.
Per Colleen’s wishes, there will be no services held at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a local animal shelter of your choice in Colleen’s name.
