Courtney “Coco” Nooner - 9/16/1992 - 4/22/2024
Coco became an angel and saw the face of God on 4/22/2024. She passed away at home, surrounded by her parents, church family, and her adored puppies. Coco is survived by her parents, John and Jullya Molburg, David Lahr, and his wife, Lupe’ Ward-Martinez. She is also survived by her grandparents, Don and Lousie Lahr; her brother, Justin (Bobo) Nooner; her siblings Erin, Natalie, and Colin Molburg; and two very close cousins, Tony Nooner and Tonya Brigance, and their families. Coco is also survived by her precious puppies, Diamond and Indy.
With a vivacious sense of humor and contagious laughter, Coco was a beacon of joy. Her appreciation of life's good days was infectious. She enjoyed spending time with family more than anything, adoring her time with her best friend and big sister, Erin, as well as her cousins. She also enjoyed music, dancing, and traveling and shared the joy she experienced in life in a most whimsical way. Her unwavering faith and intimate connection to Jesus was inspiring to all who knew her. Coco believed that her church family was one of the greatest gifts God gave her. They loved her beautifully, particularly Pastor Aaron Ban, Grandma Norma Farrell, and Aunt Pat Jackson, who were all with her when she became an angel.
Coco loved volunteering throughout her life, dedicating time at women’s shelters, animal shelters, homeless shelters, community dinners, Special Olympics, working with horses and special needs children, and on political campaigns. Her commitment to providing over 1,700 hygiene care bags to underprivileged women during the final two years of her life was a testament to her tireless dedication to making a difference in her community.
Coco had a beautiful and pure soul that shined brightly for those who knew her. Despite her lifelong battle with epilepsy and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, she led an active, giving, and joyful life. Her contribution to the field of epilepsy treatment was significant during her life and continues with her selfless brain donation to NYU's epilepsy research program.
Services for Coco will be on May 18, 2024, at noon CT, at Saint John’s United Church, 225 W. Lincoln Avenue, Chesterton, Indiana, 46304. (219) 926-1476. Coco requested that guests wear bright colors, casual clothes, and no black or suits. A luncheon at the church immediately follows. In place of flowers, donations can be made to the Coco Nooner Memorial Fund at St. John’s United, which will be used to continue her community care mission.
