Craig Michael Crohan, 70, of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was born July 11, 1955, in Chicago, IL to William H. & Evelyn M. (Balke) Crohan and graduated from Thornwood High School in 1973. Craig made his career with the Faure Brothers Corporation as a co-owner and operator. His dedication as a family man and friend knew few bounds, helping nearly anyone within his realm with genuine enthusiasm. An avid sports fan, particularly the White Sox, Craig could enjoy cheering on all of his favorite teams with friends and family. As a collector of an eclectic assortment of “stuff”, he could allow himself to revel in the joy of a new find. And, the parade of dogs that were lucky enough to call his house their home, were always at the top of his mind providing comfort, companionship and the entertainment that only canines can.

On July 4, 1994, he married Amy J. Faure who survives along with their sons: Michael, Chris & Tyler Crohan all of Valparaiso, and sister, Debra Burnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William Crohan, brother-in-law, Bill Burnson, and his beloved uncle Jimmy.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5th from 10 am to 1 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm with burial following at Graceland Cemetery.

With heartfelt sympathy and love to the family. Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. I love you all. Love, -Cousin Jimmy Balke

Mr. Crohan was like a father to me for many years. He was always ready to share a laugh or offer knowledge and encouragement. He and Amy love their people so fiercely and deeply. I’ll never forget all the things Mr. Crohan taught me. He had this special way of making even the simplest moments, like going to the grocery store or running to the pharmacy, fun and memorable. He found joy in absolutely everything and was truly a kid at heart. He could find wonder and humor in the smallest things, and his laughter was contagious. I think of him often when I see something I know he’d want to add to one of his collections, or when I come across something political and wish I could talk with him about it and hear what he’d have to say. He and Amy showed me so much generosity and love over the years, and we made so many memories together that I’ll always cherish and carry with me for the rest of my life. May he rest in Eternal Love. -Evelyn Heuring
