Dale Myers, 57 of Wanatah, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born June 8, 1966, in LaPorte to the late Donald W. Myers, Sr. and Marcella (Smith) Myers. Dale graduated from South Central High School in 1984, and made his career in maintenance at Arcelor Mittal in Burns Harbor for over 30 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wanatah, and enjoyed going fishing and helping others. Dale will be remembered as a friendly and well-loved man, who will be dearly missed.
Dale is survived by his siblings: Donald (Laura) Myers, Jr. of LaPorte, Gordon Myers of Hanna, Kim (Dave Gilman) Wright of Hanna, Kelly Williamson of Hanna; girlfriend, Jeannette Avery of Wanatah; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main St., Wanatah, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow with burial of ashes at Hanna Cemetery at a later date.
