Daniel R. Sowles, 62 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024. He was born August 8, 1962 in Hammond, Indiana, the son of Joseph and Alice (Douglas) Sowles. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy, Daniel made his career as a truck driver for Industrial Steel Construction. He was a member of the Kouts Christian Church and enjoyed spontaneous road trips, fishing, boating, and listening to classic rock.
On March 23, 1985, Daniel married Carol P. Lintner who survives along with his mother, Alice Sowles; grandmother, Charlotte Edwards; children, Brandy M. (Sean) Hoover, Brittany H. Sowles, and Ryan L. (Emily) Alden; grandchildren, Anthony, Natalie, Gabriel, Noah, Seth, Logan, Alice, and Josie; brothers, Darrell (Jill) Sowles and Dennis (Sandi) Sowles; nieces and nephews, Hayley, Heather, Heidi, Alyssa, Justin, Andrew, and Samuel; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the Kouts Christian Church 208 S. Polland Ave, Kouts, with a Service beginning at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
