Darlene Ann Staley, 64 of Valparaiso, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. She was born on January 23, 1959 in Valparaiso, IN to Harold and Dorothy (Bush) Eaton. She graduated from Washington Township High School and made her career as an inspector for Regal Beloit, formerly McGills, for over 10 years. Some of Darlene’s favorite past-times included traveling to places such as Arizona and Florida, attending concerts, and enjoying time in her garden tending to the flowers and various vegetables. She had a very loving and generous soul, always giving of herself and her time such as donating blood through the American Red Cross.
On July 23, 2012, Darlene married Herman “Beeb” Staley, who survives, along with children: Mathew Mertz, Taylor Mertz, Lynn (Steve) Daigle, and Kelly (Yale) Cook; and grandchildren: Jackson, Maggie, Wylder, and Wynnie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Eaton; and brothers: David, Ron, and Gary Eaton.
A memorial visitation will be held on July 21, 2023 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a service starting at 6:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice.

Darlene was one of the nicest, good-hearted people I've ever met. I've known her since we were teens. She married into my family, and I will always think of her as my cousin. Beeb, you will also always be family to me, also. We went to our family cook-outs for years, she will truly be missed. I will always have those memories of years past. Rest in peace, Darlene.
