Darryl L. Greer, 63 of Union Mills, IN passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born on December 31, 1960 in Valparaiso, IN to Warren and Mary “Delores” (Homen) Greer. He graduated from Valparaiso High School and spent his career as a truck driver. Farming and tractors were his passions, including attending many tractor and truck shows across the United States. He was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed listening to “Bob and Tom” and AM radio, and watching RFD TV. He enjoyed all things farming and auctions as he accrued various toys and farming related memorabilia. You would hear Darryl’s famous phrase “it might be worth something someday” as he shamelessly collected things that he found sentimental and valuable. Everything held a memory and was indeed something he cherished. His antics and love for his family and friends will be truly missed.
On September 10, 1994 in Hobart, IN, Darryl married Cynthia Wright, who survives, along with their children: Charlie (Melinda) Greer, Jeffery (Trisha) Greer, and Sara (Nick) Gulde; grandchildren: Charlotte, Emma Kate, Cooper, and Addilyn Greer; mother, Delores Greer; and siblings: Dwayne Greer, Warrenda (Tom Meyer) Greer, Wannetta (Dennis Vassalotti) Collins, Denise (Tomas) Rivas, and Kristine (Shane) Dyer. He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Greer.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. A service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2024 beginning at 10:00 AM at Moeller Funeral Home with burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery.
