Delores “Dee” Hicks, 81 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 20, 2025. She was born April 27, 1944, in Seattle, WA, to the late Eugene and Naoma (Villars) Clouser. Dee received her associate degree in computer programming, and made her career as a forklift driver with the Orville Redenbacher company. She enjoyed playing bunco, going to her weekly meet-up with her “Lunch Bunch”, and spending time on the computer playing solitaire, making spreadsheets, and researching for extraterrestrial intelligence. Dee also ran a successful business on E-Bay selling her plants and flowers. Dee was a strong woman who raised three wonderful children on her own. She had a determined mindset and a fiercely independent spirit. Dee was very open-minded and genuinely valued people. She will be lovingly remembered by her family as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, who will be dearly missed.

Delores is survived by her children: William (Maggie) Wethington of Rincon, GA, Jeanie Evans of Portage, IN, and Kellie (Thomas) Satkoski of Union Mills, IN; grandchildren: Shannon (Shannon) Waggoner, Matt (Kelley) Wethington, David (Brandy) Evans, Thomas (Stephanie) Evans, Andrew (Megan) Kingery, Jessica (Brad) Carrico, Ashley (Curtis) Evans, and Amanda Goodwin; 19 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Phillip (Jan) Clouser, Catherine Foreman, and Martha (Rick) Carrol. She was preceded in death by siblings: Annie Simmons, Paul (Connie) Clouser, and Mike Clouser; brother-in-law, Cliff Foreman; and beloved grandson, Adam Joseph Kingery.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Heartland Christian Center, 170 IN-49, Valparaiso, IN. A memorial service will begin at 12:30 p.m., officiated by Pastor Levi Oman, with snacks to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Dunes Hospice.
