Delphine Walton, 87, of Hanna, Indiana passed away peacefully at home with her granddaughter, Sara, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. She was born April 29, 1938, in Salt Lick, Kentucky to Oscar & Thelma (Reynolds) McCarty, the oldest daughter of 10 children. Delphine had owned and operated the Village Fashionette in Hanna for 50 years. She relished her daily morning gatherings with the breakfast club at Rumors in beautiful downtown Hanna. In recent years her favorite activity became the regular road trips with Sara traversing nearly all the local county roadways, usually for flower deliveries. In younger years she relished the return trips with her husband to Kentucky and the reminiscing and reunions that came along with the familiar landscape.
In 1955 she married Winfred Walton who preceded her in death in 1991. Survivors include her grandchildren: Sara Mason of Wanatah, Greg Walton of Kentucky, great-grandchildren: Aleesha, David, Bryce & Christopher, siblings: Zinda (Ed) Beerwart of Hanna, Pete (Tina) McCarty of Knox, Benny McCarty of Kentucky & Kathy Alfrey of Kentucky, daughter, Deborah Walton of Kentucky, and many loving nieces, nephews & friends. She was also preceded in death by 2 sons: Greg & Michael Walton, and siblings: Phyllis Griggs, Harold, Leander, Bo, & Kenneth McCarty.
A visitation will be held Sunday, January 11th from 1 – 3 pm at Wanatah Funeral Chapel with funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm, Chaplain Karyn Kost officiating. Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private burial will take place at Hanna Cemetery.

Sara, I'm so very sorry for your loss of your grandma, i.e. Graham Cracker. You two had such a wonderful bond. You took the absolute best care of her. Sara, I was so sorry to hear of Delphine’s passing! I can’t tell you how many times I went up to get my hair cut with Steve and Billie.
