Dennis Alan Crase, 73 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. He was born May 6, 1952, in Ashland, WI to Alvin and Lorraine (Carlson) Crase. Dennis graduated from Wirt High School in Gary, before proudly serving in the United States Marine Corps, where he was stationed in Vietnam during the war. Dennis made his career as a Union Millwright with Local 1043/1076 for almost 25 years. He was into classic cars, and enjoyed going camping and canoeing with his sons. Dennis was a devoted and loving father to his children while he raised them as a single father. His kids would describe him as “The Best”. Dennis will be remembered as an independent man with a strong will. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Dennis is survived by his children: Justin (Camille) Lange of Valparaiso, Michael (Natalie Dowdy) Crase of Valparaiso, and Rachel (David) Darnell of Portage; loving partner, Theresa Seifrig; grandchildren: Colton, Cayden, Cameron, and Eliana Lange, and Amelia Beesaw, and Kairi and Kole Darnell; and siblings: Linda (Chuck) Barnes, Kathleen (Dan) Elwood, Curtis (Norma) Crase, Susan (Kevin) Porter, and Paul (Annette) Crase. He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin R. Crase; mother, Lorraine Crase-Paterson; and siblings: Terrill Crase and Debra Zimmerman.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be announced at a later date.
