Diane Renee Brown, 55 of Valparaiso, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 23, 2024. She was born September 24, 1968 in Valparaiso and is the daughter of Richard Stratton and Linda Thompson. For 30 years, Diane cared for people, working as a nurse in various facilities in Northwest Indiana. She found enjoyment in reading, crocheting, gardening, spending time at the beach, painting, pancake Saturdays, and Movie Sundays.
Diane is survived by her mother, Linda (Tommie) Thompson; father, Richard (Debbie) Stratton; children, Michelle (John) Fela, Chistopher Anderson, Catherine (Dean) Harris, and Gabrielle Brown; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Kimberly Stratton, John (June) Leight, and Donald (Tracy) Stratton; step-brother, Stacy Stratton; ex-husband and life partner of 23 years, Steve Brown; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a time of sharing beginning at 1:00 PM. An additional Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
