Donald William Peters, 80 of Valparaiso, passed away Friday, November 7, 2025. He was born on May 21, 1945 in Watseka, Illinois to William H. and Erma A. (DeNeal) Peters. Don grew up on the family farm near Wolcott, Indiana and after graduating from Indiana University, he worked for 45 years as a CPA. He was a member of Living Hope Community Church and enjoyed model railroading, steam trains, and was a big Indiana University sports fan. Don was fond of the outdoors, whether it was vacations camping or working on the landscaping around the house. Most of all he loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
On September 3, 1966 in Reynolds, Indiana, Don married Darlene Meyer who survives along with their daughter, Dee (Allen) Lindahl; grandchildren, Summer (Sam), Carly, Kaylee (Luke), and Austin; and his sister, Karen (Don) Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Steffany Hobby; and his beloved golden doodle, Olive.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM and burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Dunes Hospice.
