Douglas Eugene Wilson, 66 of Valparaiso, formerly of Lake Station, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 9, 2026. He was born June 25, 1959, in Valparaiso to Donald Eugene Wilson and Henrietta “Frankie” (Riddle) Wilson. Doug graduated from Portage High School, Class of 1977. He made his career as a union painter with the Local 460 District 91 for 37 years before his retirement. Doug enjoyed riding his motorcycle, taking care of his truck, and socializing with friends at the local Eagles Lodge. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Doug is survived by his siblings: Linda (David) Shaw of Valparaiso, Evelyn (Lyle) Ness of Hobart, and Carl Wilson of South Haven; son, Douglas Charles Wilson; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bridjette Kane; brother, Brian Wilson; and parents, Donald and Frankie Wilson.
Doug was privately laid to rest at Angelcrest Cemetery in Valparaiso. A celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
