Douglas John William Dravininkas, 33, of New York City, formerly of Valparaiso passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 3, 2025. He was born June 11, 1991, in Valparaiso to Bruno & Anita (nee Chesna) Dravininkas, graduated from Valparaiso High School in 2010, and received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He began his career as a bond trader in Chicago and was currently a Vice-President of Trading with Morgan Stanley in New York. Doug’s vibrant personality helped to propel him as he enjoyed playing drums in the high school jazz band where he qualified as an All-State Band member, made friends on the beach volleyball courts of Chicago, and tested his limits of comedic improvisation with Second City drama classes and performances. Gentle, sweet, loving, and kind are all appropriate words to describe Doug. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Bruno & Anita Dravininkas of Valparaiso, brothers: Adam (Kara) Dravininkas of Castle Rock, CO & David (Jackie) Dravininkas of Manhattan, NY, nieces & nephews: Haddy, Nora, Remy & Leo Dravininkas, Doug’s longtime girlfriend, Min Huang of Illinois, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins & friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday, February 22nd from 10 am – 12 noon at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso with memorial service beginning at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church & School or Samaritan’s Purse.
