Edward J. Klodzen, 94 of Fishers and formerly of Valparaiso and Ocala, FL, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024.  He was born November 25, 1929 in Gary, IN to the late Stephen and Emma Klodzen.  A 1948 graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Edward served in the U.S. Air Force from September 1948 until August 1952.  In 1956 he  graduated from Indiana Tech in Ft. Wayne with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and worked for 33 years at NIPSCO, retiring as an engineering supervisor.  Edward was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Valparaiso, Knights of Columbus, enjoyed golfing, bowling, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, playing horseshoes, and most of all he loved spending time with friends and family.
On July 19, 1974 in Indianapolis, Edward married Carolyn Stumm who passed away naturally and unexpectedly also on April 18th.  He is survived by their son, Paul (Amy) Klodzen; grandchildren, Allison and Samuel; sister, Irene Lewandowski; and many nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by his siblings, James, Lucy, Steven, Emily, Margaret, Ray, Dorothy, Theresa, Joseph, Albert, and George.
In remembrance of Edward and Carolyn, a Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9:00-11:00 AM at the Angelcrest Cemetery Chapel 180 E. 600 N., Valparaiso, with Funeral Services beginning at 11:00 AM.  Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
