Eleanor U. Small, 92 of LaCrosse, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023. She was born November 21, 1930, in Cleveland, OH to Herman and Agnes (Hohmann) Rosenau. On December 28, 1947, she married Virgil Werner, who preceded her in death on January 17, 1967. On April 11, 1970, she married Dean Small, who preceded her in death on February 25, 1980.
Eleanor is survived by two children: Joan Knapp, and Scott (Lisa) Small; daughter-in-law, Linda Werner; 7 grandchildren: Roger Werner, Michael (Alexis), Lacey, and Leyton Small, Seth, Allison, and Samantha Dunfee; 4 great-grandchildren: Silas, Summer, Avery, and Jaxon; and brother, Robert Rosenau. She was preceded in death by her parents, and son, Terry Werner.
Eleanor was proud of her German heritage and enjoyed collecting clocks. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
A private burial will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Wanatah. A celebration of Eleanor’s life will be announced at a later date.
