Elizabeth Alexander (Kincaid) Lawson, 80 of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 8, 2024. She was born on January 22, 1944 in Charleston, IL, the daughter of the late Melvin E. and Mary K. (Kincaid) Alexander.  A member of Christ Lutheran Church, Valparaiso, Elizabeth showed that faith, family, and a smile on your face and a song in your heart was the most important part of life.  Her young spirit, selflessness, and sense of humor was a radiant light for her family and friends and she will be greatly missed by all that were blessed to know her.

To know Elizabeth is to know that you would always be embraced by her genuine warmth and an instant sense of belonging in her presence. She, along with her husband, shaped a family built on love, faith, and unconditional love personified in every single act of selflessness they took on for the betterment of all those around them. Elizabeth’s love for fostering children, laughing with dear friends, reminiscing on her childhood horse and lessons learned, indulging in Fannie May mint meltaways, watching hours of the animal planet channel in between games of solitaire, and her bottomless cup of coffee to take her from AM to PM are all what made her so very special to so many.

On August 24, 1964, Elizabeth married her sweetheart David A. Lawson, who preceded her in death on September 27, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her son, Kevin Lawson and daughter, Emily Lawson. It was a beautiful reunion in Heaven. She is survived by her children, Samantha (Branden) Burke and Jeffrey Lawson; and grandchildren, Elizabeth “Libbie” Lawson and Beckman Burke.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to Christ Lutheran Church in Valparaiso, IN.
