Ellen L. “Penny” Robinson, 88 of Valparaiso, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025. She was born August 10, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to George L. and Margaret (Tobin) Lawrence II. Penny was an active and dedicated member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Valparaiso. Penny was a woman who truly lived her life to the fullest, and her love for her family was profound. To know her was to love her; she had a special way of captivating everyone she met. She dedicated her career to helping others, working as an EKG tech at Porter Memorial, where she was affectionately known and loved by all. Outside of work, Penny had a vibrant spirit and a variety of passions. She loved to sew, bake, and dance. Playing cards with her friends and going to the movies were also some of her favorite pastimes. But above all else, Penny's greatest joy was found in the time she spent with her family. She was their biggest cheerleader, offering unwavering support and encouragement in every one of their endeavors.
Penny is survived by her son, Rodney (Darla) Robinson; grandchildren, Bailey and Zachary; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Tyler, Chole, and Makenna; brother, Michael (Sue) Lawrence; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Philo Martin Robinson; and siblings, Frank “Greenie” Greenhill, Robert “Bob” Greenhill, John Greenhill, Lillian “Sis” Griffin, Georgette “Jerry” Wade, and George L. “Bud” Lawrence III.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 234 W. Division Rd., Valparaiso 46385, with a Funeral Service beginning at 11:00 AM and burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
