Ethan Henry Moser, age 29, of Valparaiso, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023. Ethan is survived by his mother, Lisa (Stiegman) Moser; his partner, Rebecca Johnson; her daughter, Charlotte; and her parents, Chris and Zoraida Johnson, whom Ethan loved as his second family. Ethan is also survived by his aunts and uncles: Susan (Terry) Tillett, Sally Radivan, Jeff Stiegman, Sam Moser, and Jeff (Karen) Moser; cousins: Teran (James) Strickland, Tessa (Peter) Robbins, Toni (Zach) Langhans, Sally and Jessica Hatala, Tony (Bailey) Hatala, Todd (Jessica) Radivan, Laurie Gerometta, Jacob (Paige) Moser, Leigh (Matt) Watson, Torre Moser, Natalie (Dave) West, Kim (Jay) Newlin, and Michelle (Wally) Dixson. Ethan was preceded in death by his father, Michael Moser; and grandparents: Henry (Laura) Moser, and Kim (Nancy) Stiegman.
Ethan was a 2012 graduate of Valparaiso High School and attended Indiana University Northwest. He had a love of sports, something passed down to him from his dad. Some of Ethan’s happiest moments were while competing on his high school baseball and wrestling teams and attending Colts games with his dad. Ethan also enjoyed playing golf and was a wicked disc golfer. He had a sharp mind and enjoyed games of strategy.
Ethan never quite found his niche in the world but was a bright young man who had many interests. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades. A quick learner, he was constantly striving to learn new things. He especially enjoyed working with his hands and took pride in things he had created. Ethan was an avid reader and was never shy to give his opinions on any subject.
In spite of his own personal struggles, Ethan had a fierce love for his family and made it his mission to protect and care for them whenever they needed him. To those of us who loved him, we saw Ethan as a kind, caring young man with a big heart, even when he was unable to see this in himself. He was never one to stand by and do nothing when he saw anyone, human or animal, that needed help. Ethan especially loved working with children. Whether helping Charlotte with her homework or coaching kids in sports, his patience was endless. His family would do anything to have him back. His hugs and smile will be missed forever.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m.

I am so sorry to hear about your son. I was just with Gail T. over the weekend and we were reminiscing about old times. Such fond memories of you. Praying for you and your family, -Angie (Hersh) Wachter

We are sorry to hear about your loss. We did not know Ethan but it sounds like he was a very special person to many people and was loved. We received his obituary from my brother John Moser from Hobart, Indiana. I knew Ethan's grandfather Henry and his Great Grandfather George. As a young boy, I attended our Moser reunion at there home. Jacob Moser (John and my Dad) was a brother to Ethan's Great Grandfather George Moser. We are praying for you and you family. May the Lord give you comfort and peace during this sorrowful time. -Robert and Joni Moser
