Eugene D. Urban, 73 of Chesterton, passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. He was born on February 7, 1949 in Chicago Heights, IL to the late Leo and Florence (Drabin) Urban. After graduating high school, he worked as a Hammerman for many years. You could find him enjoying the day fishing or gambling. Eugene will be remembered as a charming ladies’ man, an avid storyteller (which you had to fight to get a word in edgewise), and always having something to say. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his children, Gidget (Terry) Thompson and Ron (Sara) Urban; grandchildren, Samantha (Fabricio) Franco, Ashley and Christopher Thompson, and Brady Urban; great-grandchildren, Alexia, Emilia, Addyson, Jaxon, Olivia, Cameron, Colton, and Weston; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Florence; and siblings, Barbara DeGreve and Leon Urban.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
