Faye A. Allen, 82 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023.  She was born September 16, 1940 in Valparaiso to the late Bennie F. and Alice A. (Landgrebe) Gast.  Faye was a 1958 graduate of Valparaiso High School and earned her bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue North Central.  She made her career as an Industrial Engineer at McGill Manufacturing Bearing Division and attended Washington Evangelical Free Church.  Later in life, Faye was known as the bargain lady and became a very organized collector.
Faye is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jim) Lindsay, Jim (Laura) Walker, and JoAnn Elkins; grandchildren, Ben Walker, Alisha (Bobby) Worth, and Stacy Walker; 8 great grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Lou “Cookie” (Bobby) Hennig.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, H. Dennis Allen, son-in-law, Curtis Elkins, and brother, Benjamin Lynn Gast.
Visitation will be held June 13, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the VNA Hospice of NWI.

We missed Faye after she moved from Lagrange to NW Indiana. She worshipped with us for a few years. She was a great friend to my mother-in-law Jean. They did many excursions together which often ended at a Goodwill Store somewhere. -Dave Hughes
