Gary Allen Brandlein, 62, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 18, 2024. He was born February 21, 1962, in Indianapolis to Donald & Barbara (Monroe) Brandlein and graduated from E. Manual High School. Gary made his career as owner and operator of Brandlien Machines where his father developed “Fireball Grinders” which were designed to greatly improve the efficiency of sharpening mower blades, and did!
He enjoyed pretty much all sports, but especially hockey and baseball. Traveling with Nancy was always greatly anticipated, and memories of Hawaii were particularly fond. It was not uncommon to hear him refer to something less than attractive as “fugly”, but that would certainly not have been the case with his 9-year-old rescued canine, “Skeeter”, who remains a beloved member of the household and bold defender of their domicile.
On August 13, 1994, he married Nancy Beier who survives along with his son, Nicholas, brother, Randy (Colleen) Brandlein, his aunt Marilyn Monroe, niece, Natalie, nephews, Adam & Travis, and many loving cousins & friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 24th from 1:00 – 1:45 pm CDT at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN 46383. A committal service will begin at 2:00 pm CDT directly at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso where interment will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the family or a charity of the donor’s choice.
