Gloria Louise Passauer, 95 of Chesterton, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family on Thursday, November 6, 2025. She was born on March 21, 1930, in Washington D.C. to Robert E. Lloyd and Mabel Viola (Hankey) Lloyd. Gloria was a loving and devoted homemaker to her husband and three children. She enjoyed square dancing in her younger years and looked forward to spending time with her family. Gloria was a remarkable oil painter and even donated some of her work to Exceptional Equestrians, where she was also a volunteer. She will be remembered by her family as having a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make others smile and laugh. Gloria will be dearly missed.

On January 17, 1948, at the St. Martin’s Rectory in Baltimore, MD, Gloria married Joseph “Pete” Passauer, who preceded her in death in 2004. She is survived by their children: Jan (Tom) Walstra of Chesterton, and Jay (Sheryl) Passauer of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Thomas (Kristin) Walstra, Keith Walstra, Melinda (Gary Cooper) Schroeder, Joey Passauer, Lexi Passauer, Dylan Passauer, and Jake Passauer; and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Lloyd; mother, Mabel Robertson; son, Joseph Bruce Passauer; daughter-in-law, Glenda Passauer; and brother, Beauford Hissey.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m.
