Gregg Harold Fuhlenbrock, 76 of Hanna, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024. He was born May 29, 1947 to the late Harold and Ninabelle (Zabel) Fuhlenbrock and was raised in North Muskegon, MI. Gregg attended Valparaiso University, where he studied from 1965-1968 and from 1968-1970 he continued his education at London University in London, England, Universite de Paris in Paris, France, and finished with a bachelor's degree at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. He began his career as a management consultant in the hotel and restaurant industry and then was a special event coordinator at the University of Arizona Foundation in Tucson, AZ. His management and planning skills then lead Gregg to the management team at the Nike Corporation in Portland, OR. Locally he became very involved with the community serving on the Board of the LaPorte County Library System, member and past president of the Lions Club and Hanna Historical Society, past secretary of the Hanna Civic Group, and member of the Unity Foundation Scholarship Committee and LaPorte County Leadership. An avid reader, Gregg was also known for his quick wit and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Gregg is survived by his companion of 55 years, Richard Watson; sister, Sue (Edward) Dabrowski; nieces and nephew, Kathlyn (Andrew) Black, Jeffrey Dabrowski, Amy (Bryce) Germann; many great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins from the Zabel and Butz families.
A visitation will be held Friday, March 8, 2024 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Wanatah Funeral Chapel 309 N. Main St., Wanatah. Cremation will follow with a private burial of ashes at Hanna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to San Xavier del Bac Mission, Tucson, AZ.
